What I liked about Segunda Mano:
First. Bangs Garcia's funny moments on the whole movie. Not to mention that she's flaming hot! =)
Second. In all fairness, Dingdong's acting in Segunda Mano really makes him deserving to bag the Best Actor award in the recently held MMFF awarding ceremony. I can confidently say that it is one of the movie's greatest assets.
Third. The house where the character of Dingdong Dantes lives. That house is my dream house! =)

What I don't like about Segunda Mano:
First of all, I thought I paid for a thriller movie treat. However, I have seen a Maalaala mo Kaya-esque acting to connect to the audience. Are you going to scare or make people cry? Make up your mind!
Second, in terms of building up the story, only the back story of Dingdong Dantes remained faithful to the premise. His story alone can run the whole progression of the movie. But, Kris Aquino's back story is something interesting only at first, but as the movie develops, you could effortlessly guess in the mid-part of the movie that Kris' supposedly dead sister is none other than Angelica Panganiban.
Third, I don't like the way things unfolded for both the characters and the audiences. In this movie, if the characters discover something, the audiences would know it as well. This is definitely not suspense because if you can predict what's going to transpire (especially the identity of the real killer), then it's definitely not worth your effort to watch the movie. What happened is that both the characters and the audiences discovered the identity of the killer at the same time - what's left for us to do now is to see how the killer would butcher the main character (Kris Aquino) at the end of the film. It could've been better if the characters discover something and the audiences still have no idea what's going on to keep them hooked and at the edge of their seats. That way, the element of predictability is effectively removed (and to keep the mouths of over-analytic audiences [like me] shut).
Rating:
3 out of 5 stars. It should have been 2 stars only but Dingdong's acting has earned the movie an extra star.
